Private airline carrier SpiceJet has decided to resume bookings on the Delhi-Jaisalmer route from Saturday onwards.

After the MoU with Spicejet, the first flight carrying 57 passengers arrived here on Friday afternoon. The tourism businessmen of Jaisalmer welcomed the tourists.

SpiceJet currently operates flights between Delhi, Jaisalmer and Ahmedabad. The decision of the company has created panic among the hoteliers who have been trying to resurrect their businesses after the losses they suffered due to the pandemic.

According to the agreement signed between SpiceJet and Jaisalmer development committee, the operational cost of flights will be calculated for 15 days.

Spicejet on Saturday announced the launch of air services between Jaisalmer, Delhi and Ahmedabad after the pact between tourism businessmen of Jaisalmer and Spicejet was inked with the mediation of district collector Ashish Modi.
