Over 25 days, volunteers cleaned the fort's grounds, ramparts, boundary walls, and a neglected hillock. This effort inspired "Sunday For Sonar," where 60 to 300 people gathered on six consecutive Sundays to clean inaccessible areas. The project also relocated the fort's parking and provided shelter for stray cattle. This initiative was recognized by the Prime Minister’s 'Swachch Bharat Abhiyan' as the second-largest cleanliness drive in India.
The campaign extended to Gadisar Lake, a popular tourist spot, where the initiative cleaned the lake, restored public facilities, planted trees, and prepared plans for better drainage and the restoration of ancient structures. After 1.5 years of upkeep, the area was handed over to local authorities.
The heritage route through the 1,500 x 750 feet fort complex and city market was cleaned. In partnership with municipal authorities, I Love Jaisalmer introduced door-to-door garbage collection and waste segregation for restaurants and hotels, installed 750 dustbins, and initiated night-time cleaning services.
Additionally, 40 volunteers helped clean and repair the infrastructure of the 150-bed Government Hospital in Jaisalmer. The foundation also organized blood donation camps, provided essential medical equipment, and established a dedicated "I Love Jaisalmer" ward, making a significant impact on local healthcare services.
