In January of this year, SpiceJet had decided to pull out of its operations on the Delhi-Jaisalmer route citing non-feasibility after the subsidy given under the Civil Aviation Ministry's Udan initiative was withdrawn. This decision led to a meeting chaired by the Jaisalmer district administration in Rajasthan. In the meeting, which was attended by Jaisalmer's hotel owners, local businessmen, stakeholders urged SpiceJet to resume its operations on the Delhi-Jaisalmer route.
